God wants to give you beauty for ashes, treasures for your tragedy, and joy for your pain.
Growing up I never understood the phrase “beauty for ashes”. It always seemed like a mystery to me. I would wonder, How can God exchange my mess for His blessings? Can He really accept me like this? With my mistakes? Can He make me feel brand new? I seemed baffled at the thought of the King of Kings in all His glory taking me in as His own and taking away my shame. It’s like a dog rolling around in dirt, mud, and poo and His royal owner, in all of his cleanliness, graciously picking the dog up, washing him, feeding him, and loving him regardless of his past filthy state.
God has shown me that He loves me for me! Nothing or no one can take that away. With His love I am full and satisfied. When I drink His living water I am refreshed and rejuvenated.
John 7:38
“He who believes in Me, as the Scripture
has said, out of his heart will flow
rivers of living water.”
The Lord has given me self-confidence, joy, peace, and love for other people. Of course, it did not happen overnight. It took a process and journey for me to finally love myself and have self-worth.
You don’t have to feel ashamed because of your past. EVERYONE has a past but the Grace of God is able to bring us back to redemption! God loved us so much that He did not send His son to condemn/judge us but to save us through Christ Jesus (John 3:17). Claim your healing and deliverance today; through Christ you have the power to receive it!
Pray this prayer today:
Dear Lord,
I believe that you can heal me. I know that you can save me. Thank you for giving me beauty for ashes and taking away my shame. You are so amazing and I can’t live without you. I need you. You are the author and finisher of my life. Please have your way in me. I love you and give you all the praise. In Jesus Name, Amen.
Inspired by Isaiah 61:1-3 NKJV
“The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon
Me,
Because the LORD has anointed Me
To preach good tidings to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the
brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives,
And the opening of the prison to
those who are bound;
To proclaim the acceptable year of
the LORD,
And the day of vengeance of our
God;
To comfort all who mourn,
To console those who mourn in Zion,
To give them beauty for ashes,
The oil of joy for mourning,
The garment of praise for the spirit
of heaviness;
That they may be called trees of
righteousness,
The planting of the LORD, that He
may be glorified.”
