The God Who Answers

The Lord said to Abram: Go from your land, your relatives, and your father’s house to the land that I will show you. I will make you into a great nation, I will bless you, I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing.

Genesis 12:1-2 CSB

Back in May, I shared that it was a season of preparation and transition for many. I also shared that my husband and I were believing to have a new place before our lease was up. Well, I am happy to announce that God has answered! By August, my husband and I will be moving to DC! We’re moving before our lease is up just like we knew God was telling us! I’m honestly still in awe of how everything transpired and so grateful for those who have prayed for us.

As we continued devoting ourselves to prayer and fasting, Lawrence and I felt God encouraging us to trust Him. We felt peace although initially we didn’t know where and when we’d move. One day, while praying out loud, I declared in faith to God that we were expecting a phone call, text, or email that week concerning our new place. That same night, Lawrence received a call from a colleague sharing about a career opportunity for couples. We brushed it off initially and ruled it out as an option, but God was already working in the details.

But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:19 KJV

After not receiving any other opportunities, we decided to give the career some more thought. It would require much sacrifice but came with great benefits. With advice from a mentor and a step of faith, we applied for the position. Within a week, we were offered the position! We felt God’s peace as we navigated the possibility of it all. It involves us serving as mentors to at-risk youth in a family-style environment. But one of the kickers is that the organization will be providing us with a house to live in!

Isn’t God amazing?! Not only did He provide us with a place to live before our lease is up, He blessed us with a ministry opportunity to work together. In addition to that, we’ll be bringing in more income than we ever have! We are beyond amazed!

If I can leave you with any advice based on this experience it’d be the following.

  • Wait on the Lord. Don’t turn to the left or right. Opportunities will come but God wants to bless you with His best!
  • Worship. Take your focus off of your situation and focus on Jesus.
  • Get a prayer partner and pray specific prayers concerning what God has told you.
  • It may not look like what you anticipated, so keep your spiritual eyes open to what God reveals.
  • Come to terms with the fact that your next assignment will require sacrifice.
  • Guard your heart and beware of the enemy’s devices meant to distract you.
  • Thank God in advance for the blessings!

Glory to God, who is able to do far beyond all that we could ask or imagine by his power at work within us; glory to him in the church and in Christ Jesus for all generations, forever and always. Amen.

Ephesians 3:20-21 CEB

Because of this new venture that my husband and I are embarking on, I will not be posting as much on here, but be sure to follow my social media accounts for life updates an encouragement. Below is my prayer for you.

Thank you Father for my friend reading this post. I thank You for answering my prayers and using this post as a means to show them that You care. Open their eyes to see your faithfulness and draw them closer to You. I pray that they surrender their plans and reject all pride, doubt, fear, and anxiety in Jesus' name. I pray that You blow their minds with Your goodness and remind them that You are sovereign. May their faith increase and their awareness in You Christ Jesus. Amen!
